This certificate prepares students for entry level positions as computer technicians, focusing on computer repair, installation and maintenance of operating systems, basic security principles, and networking for the small and home office. Students will also focus on the design and configuration of safe and secure technical infrastructures including hardware, telecommunications, systems software, operating system, and systems configuration components
Students, upon completion of the certificate, will be able to show the ability to:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all tasks and activities involved in technical support
- Apply knowledge of computing terminology in various situations
- Illustrate and apply professional employability skills, such as the importance of being timely and effective communication with customers, clients, and colleagues
- Analyze a problem and identify an appropriate solution in various situations
- Apply current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice
