The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Business Administration at LCC offers a practical and comprehensive education that is tailored for today’s competitive business landscape. This program blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on skills, preparing students for diverse roles in the business world. Core coursework covers essential areas such as finance, marketing, management, and accounting, providing a solid foundation in business principles.

 

The BAS in Business Administration program at LCC accommodates working professionals and non-traditional students by offering alternative scheduling options, including evening/weekend options, as well as online classes to balance your education with work and personal commitments.

Students may enter the program as juniors after completing an associate’s degree, or they may dually enroll in the BAS while completing their associate’s degree. With a focus on applied learning, students engage in real-world projects, case studies, and internships. The curriculum emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, essential for success in any business environment.  Graduates of this program are equipped to pursue various career paths, including roles in management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and human resources.

 

Program graduates will meet the following learning outcomes:

 

  1. Demonstrate foundational knowledge in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing in application of concepts and theories
  2. Demonstrate effective skills in written and oral communications using appropriate technologies
  3. Demonstrate an ability to integrate the concepts of the core area of business
  4. Demonstrate awareness of the importance of the ethical requirements of business activities
  5. Demonstrate an ability to conduct methodological, secondary research into business issues, which may relate to general business or to a specific business function, which requires familiarity with a range of data, research sources, and appropriate methodologies
  6. Demonstrate an ability to apply general Management know-how in practical business situations
  7. Develop an understanding of business that reflects the moral responsibility of management to all relevant stakeholders and the natural environment
  8. Understand the nature and dynamics of social behavior related to organizational performance in order to develop strategies to become effective in organizations
  9. Demonstrate knowledge of the strategic and tactical use of the primary decision-making areas of marketing used by organizations
  10. Apply their knowledge and skills as a leader in the workplace and in their community
