NUR 169 - Transition into Practical Nursing

Credits: 5(2-3)

Provides the student with a transition into the role of the practical nurse. Emphasis will be placed on distinguishing the practical nurses defined scope of practice related to clinical practice, communication, nursing process, ethical/legal issues and leadership skills. The student practices in the role of the practical nurse in the associated clinical experience. 5 Credits (2 credits theory = 30 contact hours, 3 credits clinical = 90 contact hours).

This course will be necessary only if the student decides to apply for the NCLEX-PN Licensure Examination. Prerequisite(s): NUR 106, 109, 112, and 150.
