MAT 120 - Mathematics for the Liberal Arts: MA1

Develops mathematical and problem-solving skills. Appropriate technological skills are included. Content is selected to highlight connections between mathematics and the society in which we live. Topics include set theory and logic, mathematical modeling, probability and statistical methods, and consumer mathematics. Additional content will include one topic in geometry, numeration systems, decision theory, or management science. Prerequisite(s): Accuplacer ≥ EA 85 or ACT 19 or higher or equivalent CCPT/SAT score, or successful completion of MAT 050 (grade of C or better). Co-requisite(s): Students with Accuplacer scores EA 80-84 or equivalent CCPT scores, who are advised into MAT 120, are required to co-enroll in MAT 092.
